The CharaChorder is plug-and-play, so it doesn’t require any additional software to work.
In most cases, just plug the CharaChorder into your device and it will work like any other keyboard.
Your chord library and other settings are stored on the device and are accessible, respectively, via the Chord Manager (Chromium based browser required) and the Generative Text Menu (GTM) which can be used anywhere text is typed.
PC
- Plug your CharaChorder into an available USB 2.0 or 3.0 port
- When your CharaChorder has initialized, it will display and highlight the phrase “CharaChorder is ready.” wherever your text cursor is.
- This should only take a few seconds at most.
- You can delete this text after it is typed.
Mac
- Plug your CharaChorder into an available USB 2.0 or 3.0 port
- The first time it is plugged in, your Mac will attempt to identify what type of keyboard you have. A screen will pop up, asking you to press the Shift key to the left of the space bar. You may close this screen. Your CharaChorder should simply work.
- When your CharaChorder has initialized, it will display the phrase “CharaChorder is ready.” wherever your text cursor is.
- This should only take a few seconds at most.
- You can delete this text.
iPhone/iPad
- Plug your CharaChorder into your iPhone or iPad using a lightning-to-USB adapter (or USB-C to USB adapter if you have an iPad Pro).
- When your CharaChorder has initialized, it will display the phrase “CharaChorder is ready.” wherever your text cursor is.
- This should only take a few seconds at most.
- You can delete this text.
Android
- Plug your CharaChorder into your Android device using the correct adapter for your device, such as a USB-C/micro-USB to USB adapter.
- When your CharaChorder has initialized, it will display the phrase “CharaChorder is ready.” wherever your text cursor is.
- This should only take a few seconds at most.
- You can delete this text.
